The PIR Motion Sensor in this product detects any movements within a 10-foot, 120-degree range in the dark. When someone walks by within this sensing area, the motion sensor under-cabinet light will automatically illuminate. After about 15 seconds with no motion detected, the light will turn off automatically. However, if the individual continues to move within the sensing range, the light will remain on.
